The team at Yarraville Place is proud to announce that the project has been featured in the July edition of Maribyrnong City Council’s Sustainable Living Maribyrnong.
The Sustainable Living initiative looks to generate community support towards the common goal of a healthier environment for current and future generations.
As part of this initiative, the council runs events and workshops, accessible via its Facebook page (Sustainable Living Maribyrnong), while also distributing its regular newsletter.
Yarraville Place drew the newsletter’s interest for its commitment to environmentally conscious practices, including the installation of solar panels on every townhome, which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions while also saving residents on their utility bills.
The newsletter states that “Yarraville has plans to install approximately 2.5kW of solar PV per unit, making a total of close to 250kW for the whole site, which we believe is one of the largest of its kind in Victoria, if not Australia. This is a fantastic achievement and the developers, ID Land, are to be congratulated for embracing the City of Maribyrnong’s acknowledgement of the climate emergency”.
